Economy ministry says Russia’s GDP shrinks by 4.9% in June
MOSCOW, Jul 28 (PRIME) -- Russia’s gross domestic product (GDP) fell by 4.9% on the year in June after a 4.3% contraction in May, the Economic Development Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
"In June, economic activity was supported by improving processing industry’s indicators and persistently positive dynamics in agriculture," the statement read.
In April–June, the GDP narrowed by 4% on the year and in January–June by 0.5%.
